Gender discrimination affects women in Wales daily. It can happen at home, at work or anywhere, leaving women feeling intimidated, uneasy and even frightened. While seeming harmless at the time, it says to women ‘you don’t deserve respect’, and to men ‘you can do what you want’.

By accepting abusive and controlling behaviour in everyday life, we’re promoting attitudes that can grow into something much more damaging, both emotionally and physically.

The campaign by the Welsh Assembly Government looks at the attitudes towards gender discrimination, violence against women and forced marriages.
